2010 WINTHROP RHYTHM & BLUES FESTIVAL SUCCESS
LEADS TO COVE FOOD BANK DONATION

Winthrop, WA – (August 20, 2010) Spectacular weather, a world class lineup and fabulous performances helped make the 23rd Annual Winthrop Rhythm & Blues Festival this summer the most successful since the non-profit Winthrop Music Association took over the event six years ago.

This year’s headliners Buckwheat Zydeco and Little Feat helped pull the largest crowds the event has seen in years. As a result, the Winthrop Music Association [WMA] has been able to make a $1,500 donation to the Cove Food Bank in Twisp, WA.   For every dollar donated the food bank can leverage twelve dollars worth of food distributed.

"While it was a great year for our Festival, we know that many in the region are still facing tough times in this economic downturn," said WMA Board President, William Stolberg.  "The Winthrop Music Association is thrilled to be able to make this donation to help those in need in the community that this festival has called home for the past 23 years."
